T1 Voice Service T1 Voice Service is comprised of 24 Digital Channels exclusively for inbound and outbout calling. Digital transmission is far quicker than analog lines. They are monitored continuously for quality of service. It is not unusuall for businesses with up to 60 employees to operate comfortably on a single Voice T1.
The most common of Voice T1 Services is the Primary Interface T1 (PRI T1). A PRI-T1 utilizes 23 Channels for Voice Inbound and Outbound Calling. The 24th Channel a.k.a. the D Channel is left remaining for purposes of inbound and outbound Caller ID. Voice T1 Service is available with all 24 channels for calling services (as noted above), but they are rarely used anymore. Where as analog lines are seperate numbers organized in a hunt group from your main number, the Voice T1 channels is only associated with the main number. With a PRI-T1 23 simultaneous calls can take place at the same time. Provided with Voice T1 Service is Direct Inward Dial Numbers (DID). DID numbers are directed to employees or seperate work groups. These numbers when dialed bypass the reception desk and ring at individual extensions. DID number blocks are inexpensive and are almost always utlized in conjunction with T1 Voice Services. They can even be used for fax machines and other analog devises off of your PBX Switch. Return to main page |
